Most likely the price will be lower than $15, the property/etc. However, we know that Hopoo Games is looking to expand. If we assume that, at a price of $15, one copy of the DLC is sold for every four copies of the base game that have sold (an optimistic estimate a large number of people who have bought the game have decided that it's not for them ) without factoring in the costs of a development studio and assuming that all of the money goes to the "core team" of 7 people, that would be $140,000 for a year of gamedev. Now, we don't know what the price point for the DLC will be, but I doubt it will be any higher than $15 (I'd guess $9 or $10, but we'll see). (Sure, that's more relevant to how long something's going to take to develop, but I'd argue that that means a significant portion of the time of the individuals in question has to be spent on it.) Understandably, they want to make a living wage off of this. I'm sure someone will get mad at me for saying this, but Hopoo Games is comprised of like 7 people now, with the new community manager. Risk of Rain 2 already delivers an excellent experience for $25, and I don't feel that it's unreasonable for further content additions to require additional funds. Considering that in current multiplayer, if any player in the party has an item unlocked it shows up I'd assume the DLC content will work either the same way or only if the host has it, like in most co-op games.
